I Truly Believe in the Secret

Yesterday (14th September) was our 23rd Year wedding anniversary. It started off great, however our 9 year old black Labrador began collapsing. Having had his spleen removed four months ago we feared the worse.

We took him to a 24 hour vet surgery and they said it was liver failure; I disagreed and would not let them put him to sleep. Instead I paid their $400 bill and took my dog right home.

I was supposed to be at work today in England, however this dog is more important to me and I decided to spend another bight with him and my family. To do this I had to drive six and a half hour round trip down to England to collect my laptop and drive back home... I got down there at 11:00pm and got back to my home at 02:30 AM... My journey was made easier because I played The Secret Audio Book back to back and truly believed that my dog would regain his health and not need to be put to sleep.

We took him to our local vet and luckily Anna agreed with me that the symptoms were strange... No sign of blood in his body cavity or other associated signs. So I requested we try more blood tests but nothing too invasive as I didn't want him to suffer. I also signed the forms giving Anna the right to administer euthanasia should Ben deteriorate throughout the day.
We left Ben for what we had believed the last time. We have had tears for the last two days and this afternoon was no different.

I still believed that Ben did not have liver disease only a form of strange anemia that we had to discover the cause of.

This evening at 6PM Henry our other vet called extremely confused. ( I was expecting bad news as was Susan my wife who through tear filled eyes braced herself).

Henry then went on to explain that the test had shown a strange bacteria in his blood cells that had the lab staff baffled, they did believe it could be treated with a strong 3 week dose of antibiotics.

Well the story so far is we have our dog home tonight, something none of us expected... I had in fact removed his collar prior to taking him to the vet as I wanted him to be free from any shackles as he made his next journey.

He's now lying on the rug in our living room, his tail wagging as it has throughout the whole episode.

Do I believe in The Secret ... you bet!!!

Contributor's Note

This is my TRUE experience of The Secret at work and my family as well as the vets treating Ben have been amazed at his story and on-going improvement ...
